Custom Lynx OM3 Fibre Optic Cable – ST/ST

Multi-mode fibre optic cable with ST to ST connectors, aqua low smoke zero halogen jacket and 50µm (micrometres) fibre core with 125µm cladding. Like the OM2, its core size is 50µm, but the cable is optimized for laser based equipment. OM3 supports 10 gigabit ethernet at lengths up to 300 meters. Besides, OM3 is able to support 40 gigabit and 100 gigabit ethernet up to 100 meters, however, 10 gigabit ethernet is most commonly used.

Fibre optic cables use glass threads (fibres) to transmit data. These fibres transmit the data by using modulated light waves. Fibre cables are popular because they have a much greater bandwidth than the standard copper networking cables.
